We're guessing this isn't for spreadsheets, although we know a few traders who might be after one of these. At least they'll be able to afford Alienware's so-far prototype-only new monitor, on show at CES.
The good news is it will be appearing on extra-wide shelves in some guise sometime after June – in the US at least.
The stretch look is achieved by stitching together four rear-projection monitors. The trick is in making the four images overlap seamlessly, but we're told that the hardware will work with most games despite the frankly rude aspect ratio.
By making it curved the action is all-enveloping, which should help tune those Crysis skills. We're grabbing one for the Stuff office. Should look lovely in the boardroom.
