Palm has done a mighty fine job of hyping up its new phone and OS – and finally it's got official here at CES. Dubbed the Palm Pre, it looks absolutely tip top, and is sure to sate the appetite of iPhone haters and those who don't take kindly to BlackBerrys either.

The new OS pulls together all your online calendars into one place, whether they're on Facebook, Google and Outlook, thanks to Palm's Synergy tech. This is also used in the combined messaging feature, allowing you to group together conversations from one person, whether they're IMs, texts or emails.

There's a full web browser too, meaning you can check out the net in all its glory, just as you would on the iPhone or Storm. Apps are also constantly connected to the web, so they're updated without you having to do a thing.

Specs–wise, you'll find 3G, a 3.1in screen, full slide out QWERTY keyboard, GPS,3MP snapper, support for MP3, AAC and WAV, 8GB of storage and a 3.5mm jack.
