Carphone Warehouse is set to launch new app store SnappLife for S60 and WinMo handsets in the UK.
Developed by HipLogic, SnappLife is an "always on" programme that will give users access to free subscriptions from the likes of Sky News, Sky Sports, Twitter and WeatherBug.
Updates from those you choose will appear on the phone's homescreen for you to look at when you fancy.
SnappLife will also give you one touch access to native phone applications like Facebook, Google Search and Google Maps.
Following in the footsteps of Apple's App Store, the Android Marketplace and Nokia's forthcoming Ovi Store, SnappLife will open itself up to developers, giving them the opportunity to design applications to be sold through the service.
To take advantage of the service, users of compatible phones can sign up in any Carphone Warehouse store, online at www.snapplife.com, or by texting "snapp" to 64246.
