Good news everyone! Carphone Warehouse is set to offer some tasty trade-in deals for customers who want to upgrade to an iPhone 3G S.
Since its launch last week, the iPhone 3G S has caused contoversy with its pricing plan, with O2 shackling users to a minimum 18-month contract and having to pay up to £275 for a handset. What's more, many existing O2 customers were disappointed that no weasy-upgrade offer would be made, similar to the transition from iPhone to iPhone 3G.
But obviously the bods at Carphone Warehouse had their ears open and are offering a series of incentives to upgrade.
If you have an old 1st gen iPhone – of any size – then you can claim back £100. An 8GB 3G will get you £170, while you'll get a tenner more (£180) for a 16GB 3G.
If you're on a 3G contract, you'll still have to buy your way out of it, but getting up to 180 quid in your pocket should help to soften the blow somewhat.
