Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 villain trailer out now

Set in the future, penned by the co-writer of The Dark Knight Rises, and looking amazing – this trailer’s got us buzzing

A Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 villain trailer is now online as a window into future warfare. And with David S Goyer – the co-writer of The Dark Knight Rises – scripting the story, it looks set to combine a grounded, intelligent look at warfare with plenty of hover planes and big explosions.

Spoiler alert. Look away now if you don’t want to know anything. The game will feature two storylines, one set in 1980 and the other in 2025. The 1980 plot follows Alex Mason, from the first game, fighting in the proxy battles of the Cold War for the US. A rising power, hacker Raul Menendez, appears sporadically. The 2025 story features his son David Mason caught up in a new cold war between China and America – a conflict that's being fuelled and controlled by an older, more dangerous, Raul Menendez.

With plenty of cyberwarfare, unmanned vehicles and futuristic robots we’re excited about the latest Call of Duty effort from Treyarch – especially as it’s confirmed that the Zombies mode will be back, this time with its own single player campaign. Enjoy the trailer.
