It’s not enough for your phone to be cordless these days; BT’s given it the powers of VOIP with its Fusion service, clamshell styling with its Zenith, and now Bluetooth with this new slidey character.
The Glide isn’t quite as revolutionary as the Wi-Fi network-hopping Fusion, but the its Bluetooth functionality is a first for a home dog-and-bone.
The idea is that you can wirelessly sync contacts from your mobile, PDA or PC and avoid the laborious task of tapping them in manually. Apparently it’s also compatible with Bluetooth headsets, to let you simultaneously take calls and whip up your beef Stroganoff.
The phone itself is also quite desirable as cordless home models go, looking not unlike a Nokia N series and offering a 200-entry phone book, 2in screen and texting.
The BT Glide is available now for £180 from BT’s online shop.
