The new and improved wireless tech ultimately means you'll be able to transfer your stuff quicker between devices, while also allowing manufacturers more scope when developing new products.

Bluetooth 3.0 gets its boost from pairing up with 802.11 Wi-Fi, upping data transfers to around 24 Mbps from current speeds of 3 Mbps.

Even better, if your mobile device boasts Bluetooth 3.0, it won't sap as much power as the current offering does, thanks to enhanced power controls.

We've still got around 9 to 12 months to wait before we will be able to get our hands on any end products featuring the new tech, but hopefully once its here, we won't need wires for transferring even HD video files and music libraries.
