Sony’s busy at it this morning. After outing a new version of Rolly, word is reaching us here at Stuff Towers that they’re planning to bring Blu-ray flicks to the PSP.

The service, dubbed Portable Copy, would let you hook up your slimmed down portable to your PS3 and fire over all that hi-def goodness for viewing on the move.

Sources say this could happen as soon as this year, but Portable Copy is still in development and Sony has been coy in the past about putting their newly triumphant format onto the PSP.

Last week, our man at the Big S told us any plans for a Remote Play service replete with Blu-ray movies was distinctly unlikely. However, this would mean using Wi-Fi, rather than the power of USB that Portable Copy would require.

Either way, we love the prospect of sticking HD movies onto our handheld. Surely though, we’d need that much–touted hard-drive packing PSP to stash more than one movie?

Word to the wise is that we’ll be getting that very thing later this year. We’re working on a firm release date, so keep it here for news as we get it.
