It looks like it's the beginning of the end for Blackberry's meteoric rise: Microsoft's getting in on the 'push email' act.
Push email will be added to Windows Mobile 5.0 via an upgrade called the Messaging and Security Feature Pack. Once you've got it, you'll be able to receive emails on your smartphone the instant they hit your POP3 inbox - the party trick that made Blackberry so successful.
Business bods will also be pleased to hear they'll be able to search Outlook contacts over-the-air if they've got an Exchange server.
