In the glorious days of the Megadrive, Sega’s position at the pinnacle of console gaming looked unassailable. But then the Saturn and Dreamcast bombed, taking the Japanese giant with it into a sideline role in software.
Now, we’d like to welcome Sega back to the hardware space. The much-rumoured Vision is a handheld device aimed at PSP territory, so music and movies as well as games.
Apparently unique to the Vision, though, are TV functionality and books, though technical details on how these might be achieved are non-existent.
More likely is that it’ll be an MP4 player that can simply play Java games. Watch this space; we certainly will be.
