We know, the PSP-3000 has already been launched. So can it be big in 2009? Well, we think there’s going to be something of a PSP resurgence this year.
There’s no doubt that a little of the magic has gone out of the PSP gaming space, and the launch of the PSP-3000 – with its minor changes and the interlacing issues experienced by some on the new, brighter screen – didn’t help.
Yet, it remains the most competent handheld gamer, with powerful media and networking functions and a massive fan base.
The way for it to succeed in 2009 then, is to make more of its Remote Play, location-free TV and interaction with PS3 games.
And with rumours of a PSP-4000, complete with an improved screen and possibly analogue sticks, refusing to go away, it seems certain Sony has got something up its sleeve.
