BenQ reveals super-fast X-series gaming monitors

We love a good, fast screen on our gaming comps. We’ve spent years getting sea-sick from motion blur, jagged edges and slow response times. Sigh. Hopefully BenQ can cure our ills.

The Chinese PC monitor guru is prepping its new X-series, top flight gaming PC monitors for a UK and European release.

The drool-worthy flagship of the line is the 22in X2200W. It packs a contrast ratio of 1000:1 and an 8m/s motion picture response time – which, we’re told is a much higher benchmark for these kinds of things. In normal terms, it has a 2m/s response time, which is still blisteringly fast.

The mighty X2200W also has a 92 per cent colour gamit – that’s more colours on-screen than there are colours in your world. It’s on par with Rainbow Bright and those old Skittles adverts.

The other, more mortal screens in BenQ’s X-series come in 19 and 20in sizes and they all tout HDMI, DVI and VGA connections. And they all come with a fetching chequered design on the base (pictured) so’s you know it’s a dead fast monitor, and no mistake.

This lovely line-up of PC wonder-windows are due to be released in the UK in the New Year, but it’s not been confirmed which ones we’re going to get. Stay tuned.
