If you're a fan of the Fab Four and eagerly awaiting the release of Beatles Rock Band to come around, you'll be happy to hear Harmonix has some more special edition instruments up its sleeve for you.

Instead of your standard axe, you'll now have the chance to choose from John Lennon's favourite, the Rickenbacker 325, and George Harrison's guitar of choice, the Gretsch Duo Jet.

These rock up alongside the already announced Höfner bass controller, a large-scale replica of the bass played by Paul McCartney, and the Ringo Starr-inspired Ludwig-branded drums, which will come bundled in a limited edition version of the game.

Now for the bad news. The guitars will set you back £89.99 a piece, which is going to make the game pretty pricey if you want to get all of the special edition instruments. Of course, the game will be compatible with your regular Rock Band kit so you could always add to it gradually if you want.

The instruments are set to hit the shelves on 9 September, the same date as the game, so you'll be able to perfect your Lennon impression from the start.
