We reported earlier today that cheeky hackers had managed to tickle the BBC’s iPlayer over the weekend and get it playing nice with the PS3.And now, the BBC has reacted. And rather than going berserk about this latest bit of homebrew, Anthony Rose, the Beeb’s Head of Digital Media has said he’s impressed. He’s even gone as far to say that the person behind PS3iplayer.com should get in touch about a job.On top of that, he says we’ll be seeing a proper version will be coming “in due course.”This suggests that the “control” Sony wanted over their system has been broken somewhat. For my money though, I don’t think Microsoft will be so keen to get friendly with the BBC, especially as they’re developing their own (somewhat mediocre) content for the 360.If that is the case, then surely that’s another plus point for Sony’s hub, which, with its new online store coming tomorrow, seems to be getting better and better.Have you tried PS3iplayer.com?
