Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition will arrive on the Apple iPad this summer

90s RPG fans rejoice, for Baldur's Gate is returning to glory on Apple's wonder-slate

Bioware has announced that its legendary RPG Baldur's Gate will be hitting the iPads of all gamers worth their weight in pixels this summer.

Running on an upgraded and improved version of the Infinity Engine, the iPad version of Baldur's Gate will serve up fresh new content and a new party member, in addition to the classic setting fondly remembered by gamers.

There's no word on whether or not an Android version of Baldur's Gate is in the works, but we certainly wouldn't hold our breath as this looks set to be a firmly Apple-only affair, for the time being at least.

Bring on the summer we say, where we'll be able to get our RPG fix on the go for those rare occasions when we abandon Skyrim and venture outside for supplies.

Now we just need Apple to release a dedicated gaming controller like we asked them to, which would make us very happy gamers indeed.
