Even though it rustles up a new Eee PC every few days, Asus hasn’t completely neglected its other gadgets. On its tea breaks it’s been working on the new P565 smartphone, which is promising to be the fastest multi-tasking mobile in the west.
Sporting an 800Mhz Marvell processor and Windows Mobile 6.1, it certainly looks like a prime smartphone cut for suits who need constant hits of push e-mail and Microsoft Office Mobile.
The lack of a QWERTY keypad might irk some, but the P565 runs Asus’ new ‘Glide’ touchscreen interface, which should help smooth your journey round its other apps, including Anytime Launcher and Multi-Home.
As you’d expect from a high-end business blower, there’s also a 2.8in VGA screen, HSDPA, Wi-Fi and a MicroSD slot to help boost the 256MB memory, plus a 3MP camera round the back. You know, for taking photos of the conference centre car park.
