If you're a Mac and you're a smoker, you might want to think about quitting, if not just for your health, but your computer's as well.
The Consumerist blog has been contacted by two different Apple owners who have apparently had their Applecare warranties voided and repairs refused because they were smokers.
Apparently Apple told the readers that computers that had signs of smoke damage could not be worked on because of the "health risks of second hand smoke", labelling them a "bio-hazard".
They were also advised that having workers repair the computer would be an OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Association) violation as nicotine is on its list of hazardous substances.
Letters of complaint sent directly to Steve Jobs were both declined, which is controversial to say the least considering there is no mention in the Applecare warranties that smoke damaged computers will not be worked on.
