Apple Store goes down hours before WWDC begins

The temporary disappearance of the Apple Store usually means one thing: new kit. Twinned with the imminent start of WWDC 2012, it's a cert

The Apple Store is down, and a fancy new placeholder (taking the place of the customary Post-It) tells us that's no accident. Instead, it means Apple's backing up its virtual loading truck to unpack a load of new gear for the store's digital shelves ahead of Tim Cook's keynote kicking off this year's WWDC.

Will we see confirmation of the leaked MacBooks and Mac Pros we saw earlier? Will a new era of Retina Display laptops be ushered in? Find out what other rumoured announcements we can expect in our WWDC rumour round-up.

If, like us, you await Apple's news like a five year old on Christmas eve, stay tuned and don't miss our WWDC liveblog starting at 6pm BST (10am PT).
