Apple stocks iBookstore shelves with illustrated titles

E Ink screens may have the edge over the iPad’s flickering glass, but illustrated titles for the iPad are mounting a counter-attack

If you’ve ever used iBooks on your iPhone or iPad, you’ve probably downloaded Winnie the Pooh for it. But for text-only works, Apple’s tablet is still far from an ideal reading device in the company of E Ink readers like Amazon’s Kindle. It makes sense then that the company is touting new illlustrated titles available from today that have “innovative new graphic enhancements for gorgeous, full-colour, two-page display that make books come to life.”

No word on what those graphic enhancements are yet, but we’ll let you know if any publishers get in touch to tell us about their new iBookstore offerings.
