Apple's plans for new gadgets have hit the back burner in the past week, thanks to Steve Jobs temporary retirement. But you'll be pleased to know that order has been restored on gossip sites across the web, with rumours now pointing to a beefed–up 15in MacBook Air.

Already a product that invokes not only slavish devotion, but also bitter distaste amongst PC fans, the Air seems an unlikely product to get the hefty treatment, with a 15in version surely running counter to the idea of lightweight portability.

AppleInsider, however, has news from Chinese gossipmongers Apple.pro, pointing to a new model, "...suitable for the older [with] poor eyesight." Word is it'll pack a Core 2 processor, but other details remain elusive.

Apple.pro did show off correct plans for the MacBook's new unibody infrastructure, but has previously been wide of the mark with some rather outlandish predictions.
