February has all but gone and despite new MacBooks and Pros, there's still been no unveiling of the fabled iPhone Software Development Kit (SDK) – the key to opening up the iPhone to third-party apps.
So why the delay? We should find out next week, as Apple's sent out invites to one of its cosy 'town hall' meetings in Cupertino to discuss the 'iPhone Software Roadmap'.
Highlights along the way include 'Software Update' – which should mean some new features coming soon – the promised 'SDK' and the intriguingly entitled 'Enterprise'.
That last one sounds like we could be seeing Blackberry-style push email on the iPhone before long. We'll have to wait and see whether the 'SDK' mention means the development kit will finally be ready, or whether we'll just be getting an update on its progress.
