The long-awaited-but-yet-to-be-confirmed Apple Tablet has been delayed owing to a design change that will see OLED screens on some devices, it's been reported.
If DigiTimes is right, there will be two versions of the Tablet, a 10.6-inch model and a 9.7-inch model with an OLED screen. The additional model has incurred delays from LG, which is apparently supplying the displays.
That means we’re unlikely to see the Apple Tablet until the second half of 2010, but that we’d also get an OLED model with great contrast, a wide viewing angle and amazing battery life.
Of course at this stage, the Apple Tablet remains a speculative entity (that’s fancy talk for make-believe), so for now this is just rumours on top of rumours.
Still, all this rumour-mongering reminds us of the chatter that led up to the very real announcement of the iPhone, so let’s not be done with it quite so easily
What do you think? Will it be worth the wait? Would you rather have a LCD Apple Tablet sooner? Or do you think this rumour is yet another false dawn for a product that may never see the light of day? Drop us a line in the comments below.
