We've been talking about tablets more than a bunch of obsessed pharmacists recently. And here we go again: a product listing in the iPhone OS 3.1 beta points to a new Apple device known as the "iProd".
The Apple iProd is a terrible name but could it be the tantilising first solid hint that the mythical tablet Mac is just weeks away?
A note in the documentation for developers points to the iProd 1.1. Apple devices are designated as 1.1 at the first stage of their development.
There are more clues in the code: a description that the geeky gurus at Ars Technica says points to a new device with high-speed networking skills and will run iPhone OS 3.1.
There's still a chance that these codes and clues could actually point to the rumoured camera equipped iPods or even the iPhone Nano.
Let's hope it is the Apple Tablet and that is released in September, if only to stop all these damn rumours. But please Steve, don't call it the Apple iProd.
