App Store hits one billion mark
After some less than glowing publicity surrounding its dubious approval process yesterday, the Apple App Store has just hit the magic one billion down

Worrying Baby Shaker apps aside, hitting such a milestone within just 9 months is astonishing. While phones have had downloadable apps for years, Apple’s online store has created such a buzz that it’s left the likes of Nokia’s Ovi store and Google’s Android Market struggling to keep up.
Apps are currently Apple’s big selling point, turning the iPhone into the multimedia device everyone’s craving. Add the gaming aspect and it’s hard to see how even the hottest new phones, with specs to die for, can break its dominance.
