Amazon Kindle to get voice recognition?

It looks that way if Amazon's rumoured splurge on Yap is anything to go by

Siri better start working on his/her social skills as Apple's voice technology is about to get some company. CLTBlog is reporting that Amazon has bought Yap, a start-up focusing on voicemail-to-text services which has had apps in beta on the App Store and Android Market in the past.

So will future Kindles have us yapping into them? Well, not in 2012, as they haven't got the right hardware yet – no mics for voice recognition. We just hope that every voice recognition start-up has its business plan in shape, just in case any other tech giants come a-knocking.
