All phones are gaming phones these days (apart from those £10 ones you buy for festivals), but the Acer Predator 6 takes things to the next level.
How? Well, first off it borrows some of the design cues from Acer's Predator gaming laptops. That’s a bit like taking style tips off the people wandering around CeX, but should appeal to some people out there. Alright so it's not going to wow you with its beauty, but it’s not often you get to buy a phone that'll accessorise with your gaming laptop.
Any takers? No? Well perhaps the substance side of the Acer Predator 6 will prove more convincing. It has a deca-core (that’s 10-core for those without latin skills) processor made by MediaTek. While Acer hasn’t confirmed the specific model, it seems highly likely it’ll be the Helio X20, a crazy-fast SoC only announced back in May.
The other real highlight is the quad-driver speaker array, with front-facing speakers sitting at each corner of the Predator 6. We’ve not heard it in action, but it could be a real draw.
Like the OnePlus 2, the Acer Predator 6 also has 4GB RAM, and sits among the most tech-packed camera phones with a 21-megapixel main sensor.
We don't yet have price or release details for the phone, but we'll update our IFA 2015 hub with the info when we get it. Alongside the phone, Acer also announced a new generation of its Predator laptops, with 15in and 17in models, plus a new easy-upgrade Predator G3 desktop.
