7digital secures DRM-free Warner tunes

As of today 7digital will be the first European download store to offer tracks from Warner Music without DRM protection, enabling you to play it on whatever MP3 player you want. That means tunes from some of the world's biggest bands, including Muse, The White Stripes and, er, Junior Senior. Remember them?

It brings 7digital's DRM-free count to 80 per cent of its 3.5 million tracks. To sweeten the deal just that little bit more selected Warner albums will be available for just £5.

With Amazon's DRM-free download store due by the end of the year, these must be the final days of protected downloads.
