Mobile World Congress always throws up plenty of sharp new phones to keep us busy well into the summer. But this year, everyone's keen to one–up the competition and get their new goodies out in the open early. From the Toshiba TG01 to the Samsung Tocco Ultra Edition, some of the hottest blowers have already been given the official nod.
But that doesn't mean you shouldn't get excited. Here's our pick of the hottest rumours for next week's mobile powwow in Barcelona.
Sony Ericsson to show off their Android mobile
Sony Ericsson's the only major player not unleashing any of their new haul ahead of a planned unveiling on Sunday night. We know for a fact they're paid up members of Google's Open Handset Alliance and have previously said they're working on an Android phone. Could we be getting it sooner than we think?

Nokia to launch Symbian App Store
You're nobody on planet mobile if you haven't got an App Store. So Nokia will gift the world their very own version of Apple's winning store next week. Expect thousands of freebies that will work with hundreds of Symbian cells. If Apple can shift 500 million apps, surely Nok can do the same?

Microsoft shows off Zune phone
The Big M has big app plans of its own, with Skymarket in the offing. But how about pulling a surprise out of the bag and showing us a Zune phone too, eh? With the easy UI of the underrated MP3 player and a hook up with a big mobile player, surely Microsoft would be onto a winner.

Asus unveil Eee Phone
The Eee Phone is coming. But dates remain more elusive than a successful estate agent. Throwing it to the masses at MWC would put Asus right into the mixer with netbook rivals Acer, who are showing off their effort at a press shindig on Monday night. Plus, its Android style would make it truly stand out from the crowded pack.

Samsung shows off its iPhone rival
Sammy's already said that the Tocco Ultra Edition will be its flagship phone at this year's show. But the pics of a device dubbed Acme tell a different story. Samsung has yet to truly land a punch on Apple, so surely now would be the time to come out all guns blazing.
