In a world where everything is ‘Now! Now! Now!’, patience is a difficult thing for any UK gamer to muster – especially when it comes to the Nintendo Wii.
We’ve seen it launch very successfully in Japan and the States – hell, we even saw it featured in a South Park episode, but in five days time (this Friday), it’s our turn. No more shall we be deprived our little white remotes of joy! But if that wasn’t enough to wet my appetite, I received a lovely surprise from my postman this morning. It was a package (get that out of your head, you filthy beast) containing no less than FOUR Wii games from Ubisoft!
Both driving games came in double-wide boxes, containing Ubisoft’s Wii steering wheel. For anyone who has been as excited about the Wii as I have, you’ll probably have seen photographs of the wheel already. However, one thing I didn’t realise was just how tiny it is! It almost fits completely into my outstretched hand – a far cry from the bulkiness of the original Xbox pad.
At the moment I can only sit and stare at my lovely little Wii family… And, y’know, rub them against my face and take them out for a night of wining and dining… But it’s reassuring to know I have them, especially when nobody knows exactly how many units of hardware or software the UK will be receiving. One thing for sure, it’s going to be a slow, teeth-grinding few days until Friday.
