After all, back when Apple honcho Steve Jobs first announced the iPhone in Macworld 2007, he admitted that Apple was already planning a third-generation version.

Rumours have been pointing to the anniversary of the iPhone's launch, June 30th, as a potential date for 3G launch - fuelled by T-Mobile's short-term discounting of the iPhone in Germany, which ends on that date.

Well, now we hear the launch could be even sooner, courtesy of Steve Jobs' favourite journalist, The Wall Street Journal's Walk Mossberg.

In this video ostensibly about US broadband speeds, Walt says 'it [the iPhone] will be 3G in 60 days'.

Better start saving before the credit crunch hits home.
