As you’ve probably heard, Apple’s preparing to announce the spanking new 3G iPhone tonight in San Francisco. Our man, Tom Dunmore, has headed off to California and will be blogging live from what will undoubtedly be the launch of the year.

US customs has apparently already been witness to huge shipments of the blower heading into the country, with O2 said to be readying a release over here, possibly in August.

On top of 3G, we’re hoping to see some GPS and over–the–air downloads. And that’s just for starters.

Jobs is definitely going to show off the new iPhone 2.0 firmware, as well as lifting the lid on the much–vaunted App store.
