Hands-On Video: Sony RX0 II

Don't call it an action cam, because it actually does more

Sony Malaysia officially launched their latest premium ultra-compact camera, the RX0 II during their 'Vlog With Sony' event held at Sunway Pyramid. Despite looking like an action camera, the RX0 II is the world's smallest and lightest premium ultra-compact camera. The RX0 II is also waterproof, dustproof, shockproof, and crushproof.

The RX0 II's image and video capture is powered by a 1.0-type stacked 15.3MP Exmos RS CMOS sensor. It also features an advanced BIONZ X image processing engine, and an ISO range of 80 - 12800, and is equipped with a ZEISS Tessar T* 24mm F4.0 wide-angle lens with a shortned minimum focusing of 20cm. On its rear is a tiltable LCD screen that's able to flip 180-degree up and 90-degree down which could also function underwater. The RX0 II introduces in-body electronic stabilisation for steady footage, even when shot handheld.

The camera can also be used for regular photography with added features such as 16fps of continuous shooting, and timelapse mode. Autofocusing is powered by an upgraded Sony Eye AF, where a simple half press of the shutter button will lock-on to the eye of the subject. Video-wise, it offers 4K 30p internal movie recording with exceptional detail and depth- It also features Super Slow Motion recording at up to 1000 fps

The Sony RX0 II will be available in Malaysia from May 2019 at MYR 2,799
