Looks like the Sony Alpha 7R II is heading to Malaysian stores soon as Sony’s put the camera up for preorder.
Looking at the specs, it’s obvious the camera is going to be the flagship of its range. The 42.4MP camera is mirrorless, with a full-frame BSI CMOS sensor with image stabilization. It has what is considered to currently be the largest backside illuminated CMOS chip, that allows the maximum expanded ISO to go up two stops to 102,400.
Its 5-axis image stabilisation is rated at 4.5 stops, and can capture 4K video at 30p/25p or 24 p, with the option of taking it from the full sensor width or a Super 35 crop.
So what you’re looking at here is a fairly light camera with a very impressive sensor though its RM11,999 price tag might give you pause.
