This is the Xiaomi Mi4 and it’s coming soon, according to this leak

Have a close look at this leaked image; it could very well be the Xiaomi Mi4 that you’ve been eagerly waiting for. Online retailer Xiaomiworld has given us a glimpse into what’s in store for the coming weeks, by revealing (lots of) information about the flagship product.

Just days after GSM Insider leaked images of an alleged Xiaomi Mi4 smartphone in production, the company’s president and co-founder, Bin Lin, posted a product announcement teaser on his personal Facebook page (consequently reposted on Xiaomi Singapore’s Facebook page) that it’s set to unveil on 22 July.

Here’s one more to add on to that collection, and like all rumours, we're still taking it with a huge pinch of salt till Xiaomi's official announcement.

Too much information

This is the Xiaomi Mi4 and it’s coming soon, according to this leak

The device is claimed to sport a 5.5in, 2K quad HD display, along with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chip, 16GB of flash storage, 3GB of RAM, a 13MP back camera, as well as an 8MP front-facing shooter. The unit distributed could be equipped with MIUI V5 based on Android 4.4 KitKat and support 4G LTE.

And the unit’s said to be priced at S$784 (RM2010), a far cry from the pricing of Xiaomi’s existing product line-up and budget smartphone strategy. Also, if you compare the original source to the one leaked by GSM Insider, they’re both worlds apart in terms of looks as well.

We’re hoping there’s a more credible Mi4 leak in the coming days leading up to Xiaomi’s annual product launch event in Beijing, just to quell the suspense. If not, we’ll just have to be patient until 22 July, which isn't that far off from now.

Along with the Mi4, a Mi3 S launch is also expected on the same date. Watch this space for more updates.
