Xiaomi has been driving us crazy. We’ve been constantly thinking about what it will be launching on 15 May (in Singapore), and this little leak could provide us with a sneak peek into the Chinese electronics vendor’s plans.
According to recently surfaced information on the Internet, if they’re to be believed, there’s a Xiaomi Mi3S in the works and putting two and two together from Xiaomi’s Facebook post (about some new devices its launching), this might just be it.
Photos and specifications about the Xiaomi Mi3S have been circulating around the Internet from China.
Some of these sources claim it will feature a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor (2.5GHz), Android 4.4.2 KitKat (with Xiaomi’s own MIUI customisation), 3GB of RAM and16GB of internal memory, while others say specs comprise of a 5in Full-HD display and a 13MP rear camera.
Why the suspense Xiaomi?
Judging from the leaked photos, the purpoted Mi3S looks similar to the Mi3, just with more curvy corners.
Xiaomi also slashed the price of its Mi3 Android phone, from S$419 (RM1,093) to S$339 (RM884) last month in Singapore, and if that’s any indication of it clearing the stocks to make way for the Mi3S, we’re welcoming the change just as much as you are.
But with Xiaomi global vice-president, Hugo Barra, confirming (through a Facebook posting) a Redmi Note launch in May, it could be a coin toss between either devices.
OR, it could be releasing both the Xiaomi Mi3S and the Redmi Note on 15 May – the Xiaomi Singapore Facebook post did read “new products are coming your way” afterall.
