If you've been hankering for an official Xiaomi retail presence in the Klang Valley, then your wish has been granted. A store is opening this week at Suria KLCC.
UPDATE 3/11/2017: The store is now officially open and stocks a range of Xiaomi-branded items such as phones, power banks, headphones and mobile accessories. Some items, however, are only for display, such as TVs, rice cookers, drones and the Mi Air Notebooks. Head over for nicely priced Xiaomi products with official warranties and also a sneak peek at upcoming phones such as the Mi Mix 2.
Convenience for Xiaomi fans
The company had previously opened a Premium Reseller store at the Queensbay Mall, Penang. This 13 October will see a Friday soft launch of the store in KLCC and is likely a test of market demand and viability.
What will be sold? There have been no hints so far and if it's anything like the Penang outlet, it might focus on Xiaomi's non-smartphone items such as speakers, bags, power banks and earphones.
That might be disappointing for customers who want more access to Xiaomi's phones, but it's too soon to say what the brand's plans are. If you think KLCC is an inconvenient location, apparently there will also be a store opening at IOI City Mall soon.
