Western Digital updates its WD Pro series with more storage, faster speeds

My Passport Wireless Pro now comes in 3TB

Western Digital's upgraded its WD Pro series to offer more storage and speed. The Malaysian market can now expect a new version of the My Passport Wireless Pro and an upgraded My Cloud Pro Series NAS.

Also seeing an update is WD's My Cloud mobile app. Photographers in particular might be keen on the new My Passport Wireless Pro that now comes with 3TB of storage,a built-in SD card reader, a USB 2.0 part and a built-in battery pack rated at 10 hours.

The device can support up to eight devices connecting to the drive at a time, handy in situations where you need to share files with a group. The My Passport Wireless Pro is also compatible with Adobe's Creative Cloud and Plex Media Server.

For those looking for a new NAS, the My Cloud Pro Series offers up to 32TB of storage and a one touch backup button. The NAS also has a hardware accelerated video processor that supports, among other things, 4K video.

As for pricing, the My Passport Wireless Pro is RM1099 with a 2-year limited warranty, while the My Cloud Pro Series NAS starts from RM1759 for the diskless My Cloud Pro 2-bay, RM 2699.00 for 4TB, RM 3279.00 for 8TB, RM 4229.00 for 12TB and RM 4599.00 for 16TB.

For the My Cloud Pro 4-bay (PR4100) NAS it's RM2589 for diskless, RM4159 for 8TB, RM 5749.00 for 16TB, RM7699 for 24TB and RM7999 for 32TB. There's a 2-year limited warranty for the diskless NAS models and 3-year limited warranty for the populated versions.
