For the past few weeks Vivo has been bombarding us with teasers for its next up and coming smartphone, the X5 Pro.
Now there is no second guessing their intentions because in the Weibo post that came along with the image, Vivo is talking about the phone including a specific biometric security function: eye recognition technology. Vivo claims that this method is more secure than any other authentication method as the biometrics of the eye cannot be copied.
Vivo claims that this technology will not only be used for securing the phone but also specific apps too. We only have limited info on the smartphone now as the official unveiling is on May 7 (according to rumours). The phone will be installed with a 2.5D curved glass on the front, 3,500mAh battery, a USB type C connector, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chipset, and will sport a metal build while having the ability to take 32MP pictures with its front camera. The 32MP would most likely be achieved with some software, and not with a 32MP sensor. As for the main camera, it would most likely come with phase detection autofocus.
