Earlier this month, Vivo has been teasing Malaysians of a brand new S-series smartphone that may be launching locally sometime soon. The phone in question is most likely the Helio P65 powered Vivo S1 that was recently launched in Indonesia. Interestingly enough, this S1 is not the same model that was released in China four months ago which also shared the same name.
The global Vivo S1 features a 6.38-inch Super AMOLED FHD+ display with a 32MP selfie camera housed in a waterdrop notch, as well as an in-display fingerprint sensor. As mentioned earlier, the phone is powered by a Helio P65 SoC processor, 4GB RAM, 128GB storage, and a generous battery capacity of 4,500 mAh that supports Vivo’s Dual-Engine fast charging. Like a majority of current Android smartphones in the market, it is running on Android 9.0 Pie with Funtouch OS 9. Last but not least, the Vivo S1 packs a triple camera setup consisting of Sony IMX499 16MP+8MP+2MP sensors.
The Vivo S1 will be available in Cosmic Green and Skyline Blue colour options, and is retailing at IDR 3,599,000 (~MYR 1,060). Vivo Malaysia has yet to announce its local launch date and pricing but judging by recent teasers from the company, the smartphone is definitely making its way here soon.
