When you hear the name Vertu, you know what you’re up for – a luxurious device clad in premium quality materials, sporting the most stylish of looks, and catching the eye (and envy) of many. Not forgetting to mention a price to match the bill too.

And this time, it’s no different – Vertu’s unveiled its new diamond collection, which will sit alongside its Signature, Aster and Bentley assortments. And if the pictures don’t already speak for themselves, they promise true blue opulence.

Diamond encrusted...

The Pure Jet Alligator Diamonds is the top of the line model of the lot, and based off the Vertu Signature Touch smartphone. This unit, available only in a special edition, sees 124 white diamonds (a total of almost half a carat) embedded into a “pillow” of gold.

It also comes with white gold detailing on the stereo sound bar, along with a jet-black ceramic pillow, and alligator skin wrapping around the back of it. It also boasts a brushed and polished black PVD titanium back plate.

On the inside, it’s powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, features 64GB of internal storage, Full HD Sapphire Crystal display, a 13MP rear snapper, a 2.1MP front shooter, stereo High-fidelity loudspeakers, and LTE connectivity amongst others.

It also comes out of the box running on Android 4.4 KitKat.

If you want one from the range but aren't willing to part with €15,900 (RM67,460) for it, you can have your pick between the Diamonds Red Alligator and Black Alligator instead.

Their insides are pretty much the same – the only difference is that the Diamonds Red Alligator shows off 55 white diamonds, red alligator skin and no gold details, while the latter replaces 22 of the white diamonds with black ones, and comes fitted with black alligator skin.

They’re both priced at €8,900 (RM37,760), which is still on the high-end scale, but is more palatable than that of the Pure Jet Alligator Diamonds smartphone.
