Playing a mobile game with a mouse and keyboard might seem overkill but popular MOBA Vainglory has made it happen via a collaboration with Samsung on the latter's DeX platform.
A twist on esports
Why is this a big deal? Well, as esports continues to grow, being able to showcase mobile games on the PC makes it far more interesting in tournament settings. Samsung's DeX technology brings a seamless desktop-like feel to using a mobile platform when hooked up to peripherals so why not use that for mobile gaming?
Speaking of esports, the SEA Vainglory championships are happening in Jakarta next month on 9-10 September, featuring four teams battling for a place in the World Finals to represent Southeast Asia.
The four teams who made it to Jakarta are Infamous, Impunity, Popeyes and Elite 8, with the games being livestreamed on the eGG network as well as via Vainglory's official YouTube, Facebook and Mobcrush channels.
