As Unifi continues to offer better solutions to their customers, the company has rolled out Malaysia's first Time Division Duplex (TDD) pre-5G wireless technology as a solution to those hard to reach.
Using the Unifi Wireless Broadband package introduced last year, the project, which started in Q4 in 2018 , has already entered its commercial phase at SetiaWalk, Puchong. This is an ideal location as the area consists of residential blocks, mall and offices. Due to its high rise and being a dense residential area, residents may have a hard time accessing broadband due to lack of fibre coverage thanks to its infrastructure.
This is the first TDD-LTE Massive MIMO broadband rollout in Malaysia which utilises the 2.3GHz band. It offers speed upgrades of up to 30Mbps with a peak throughput of up to 80 Mbps. Acting Executive Vice President of Unifi, Moharmustaqeem Mohammad, also shared that the pre-5G wireless technology can deliver a high capacity of up to 500Mbps, which is twice the capacity of existing 4G technology.
As Setiawalk is the first location with a setup ready, residents that sign up for the wireless broadband plan from the 7th until the end of April 2019 will enjoy double the quota of Unifi’s home wireless broadband solution 60GB to 120GB.
It looks like TM is one step closer in delivering 5G experience to its customers, and in time we will be seeing more solutions by them to reach a wider customer base.
