Most university students dread walking up to the Finance Department of their university just to pay their school fees. Well, all that is about to change. Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia or UKM has teamed up with MOLPAY, Southeast Asia's leading online payment gateway, to make paying university fees that much easier.
MOLPay has been the leading digital payment gateway for over 10 years now. In 2014, they released their MOLPay Cash service, available at all 7-Eleven convenience stores. Since then, MOLPay Cash has been the easiest way to pay for your house bills, phone bills, or even your online orders from Lazada. With over 2,000 stores across Malaysia, it has since become the most convenient way to pay for your necessities. University fees are also a necessity in most households, and its very forward-thinking of UKM to allow their students to make their school payments anytime and anywhere.
Mokhsin Tumin, Finance Manager of UKM had this to say: “Thanks to the partnership between UKM and MOLPay, our payment system is now updated in real-time which helps to ease payment updates upon receiving notice of payment. Students are also more assured that digital payment updates are immediate, so they won’t have to worry about any potential disruptions or delays to their education.” Since the implementation of the UKM ePayment service to MOLPay, the university reportedly saw a steady boost in online payment collections by 60% each year. The university credited the improvement in funds to increased awareness of the service availability among the general public and students.
With UKM lighting the way, we hope more universities, especially private universities, follow suit with this sort of accessibility and convenience offered to the student body.
