With the iPhone 11 set to be made available next week for us Malaysians, it looks like U Mobile is also preparing something special to go along with it. From 27 September, U Mobile will be introducing the eSIM, an embedded SIM that doesn't need you to have a physical SIM card to connect to a telco. All you need to do is scan a QR code and you'll be connected to U Mobile instantly.
Other than that, not a lot of information has been revealed, such as whether existing customers can get it and if they will be charged to be upgraded. But you can be sure that the embedded SIM will be made available for iPhone users as so far their list of compatible smartphones mainly involves them.
So the eSIM will be compatible with the latest iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max, as well as last year’s iPhone XS, XS Max and XR. The eSIM feature will also allow you to enable dual-SIM functionality on the new iPhone models as you can use both eSIM and a different physical SIM simultaneously.
You can find out more on U Mobile's website.
