Episode IX Details And More Coming From The Star Wars Celebration 2019

Not to mention exclusive looks at The Mandalorian and Jedi: Fallen Order.

2019 is a big year for the Star Wars franchise, with the yet untitled Episode IX coming out at the end of the year, and even Episode I: The Phantom Menace celebrating its 20th anniversary. As such, the upcoming Star Wars Celebration is set to announce all things Star Wars across all media. Recently, the complete schedule was released and we have all kinds of things to be excited for.

The Return Of The Last Jedi Strikes Back

The biggest source of excitement is definitely the Episode IX panel that will be held on April 12th. The director of the film, J. J. Abrams will be taking center stage, along with Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy. Expect the first trailer of the final movie in the sequel trilogy, and most importantly, the actual reveal of the film’s title.

Vader In VR

A new collaboration between ILMxLAB and Oculus will depict a whole story, starring everyone’s favourite Sith lord Darth Vader. This new story will be called Vader Immortal, and will take place in Vader’s castle on the planet Mustafar. Whether this will be just a virtual reality experience or an actual game that can be played remains to be seen. Expect more right after the Episode IX reveal.

The Resurrection Of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

The long-awaited new Star Wars video game, made by the studio behind Apex Legends, Respawn Entertainment, is finally seeing the light of day. Star Wars video games have been a hit or miss these days, and a single player video game experience would really be a breath of fresh air. The game will follow a young Padawan who survives the fallout of Order 66, in between Episodes III and IV. The panel will take place on the 13th of April.

The Mandalorian Mandate

The very first live-action Star Wars series is upon us. Written by Jon Favreau, who also directed the first Iron Man movie by the way, will take center stage during the panel with producer Dave Filoni on the 14th of April. Hopefully we’ll see more of the world of The Mandalorian, and a reveal on the characters who will be on the show.

Last But Not Least

The final season of the unfinished animated TV show, Star Wars The Clone Wars, will also have its own panel during the Celebration. While Star Wars Rebels and Resistance has filled up the void left by The Clone Wars abrupt cancellation, it's great to see this great series getting the ending it deserves. Catch more of this new season during the panel on the 14th of April.

Of course, much more panels and announcements will be made during the massive Celebration taking place on 11-15 April 2019 in Chicago. Check out the schedule of the Star Wars Celebration 2019 right here to find out more.
