The TV show had been previously slated for early this year but various production delays has meant it will only debut this Fall.
Still, it's been a long time coming as Star Trek fans have been waiting for a new TV show for the franchise for a long time.

Already the trailer has stirred some controversy, thanks to the rather different character design for the Klingon race. It's also a first look at Sonequa Martin-Green as the show's protagonist, a first officer aboard the USS Discovery.
Michelle Yeoh is playing the captain of the USS Shenzhou, with Jason Isaacs also onboard as Martin-Green's captain on the Discovery. The Office's Rainn Wilson will also make an appearance as Harry Mudd. Yeoh is featured quite prominently in the trailer which should please fans excited about hearing that she would be joining the Star Trek Universe.
