Spotify has joined the ranks of Twitter and Instagram as some of the must-have apps most smartphone users should have on their mobile devices. The music streaming app is the best place to discover new music and podcasts on a daily basis. If you’re a Spotify user, have you ever wondered how the app got its start?
Spotify Untold is a whole new mini-series based on the tell all novel by the same from Sven Carlsson and Jonas Leijonhufvud, which tells the tale of how Spotify got its start in Sweden, and the ups and downs the company faced with entering the US market. The tale features the likes of Steve Jobs and Napster founder Sean Parker making appearances, who has been played by notable actors like Ashton Kutcher and Justin Timberlake respectively.
The adaptation is being made by Yellow Bird UK, who are known for producing Occupied on Netflix. Executive producer of Yellow Bird, Berna Levin, had this to say on their latest project: “Spotify Untold is the ultimate tale of achieving the impossible and unimaginable. A modern-day David vs. Goliath set in the dynamic arena of the music industry, this is the true story of youth challenging the establishment. With reality trumping fiction at every turn, we will explore one of the greatest and most surprising technological advancements of our time."
So far, the cast and crew of this adaptation has not been revealed just yet. It also remains to be seen on what platform Spotify Untold will debut, though hopefully it will come to modern streaming platforms like Netflix.
