We weren't kidding when we said 2020 is the era of wireless headphones, and we've gotten a great range lauched in Malaysia so far. But it's far from over as we now have the Samsung Galaxy Buds+ to look forward to, which is likely to be further revealed during the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked.
A spec sheet had been released by infamous leaker Evan Blass for the Samsung Galaxy Buds+ revealing a big upgrade in terms of battery, with an increase of 58mAh to 85mAh for the buds, while the case jumps from 252mAh to 270mAh.
According to Samsung, this should nearly double the battery life giving you a playtime of 13 to 22 hours with the case and buds! A far cry from the previous 6 to 11 hours in the previous versions. There's even fast charging, where with just 3 minutes of charge you can get an hour of playtime!
The sound quality has also improved significantly, with a 2 Way Dynamic feature which is a Woofer + Tweeter setup for improved sound. There's also now two outer microphones as well as one inner microphone, so it's going to be exciting to see how that improves mic quality. There will also be a shortcut to Spotify where you can pull up the Spotify app on your phone directly with the headphones.
There are some downsides though; there's still no Active Noise Cancellation, and they will be significantly heavier from 5.3g to 6.3g. But these may be small issues, depending on the level of comfort per person.
The Galaxy Buds+ will also be USD$20 more expensive at USD$149 (~RM613). The Samsung Galaxy Buds in Malaysia officially costs RM499 so we can expect it to be priced around RM600 here in Malaysia. There will be four colours to look out for as well; Black, White, Blue and Red.
