Ultimate camera attachment

The DSC-QX10 and DSC-QX100 are Sony's answer to the lens attachment you see people putting on their phones or tablets. But according to SonyAlphaRumors, these are more than just clip-on lenses. The devices house a Bionz processor, WiFi/NFC, SD card slot as well as a built-in sensor.

Using your tablet or smartphone, you control the attachment lenses via remote wireless connections. Best news: they're compatible with both iOS and Android.

Of the two lens camera attachments, one will have a RX100MII sensor and Zeiss lens while the other will have a 10x zoom lens, an 18 megapixel CMOS sensor - basically the same as the lens and sensor as Sony's WX150 camera.

Pricing and official availability as yet unknown but it looks like something worth following if you'd like to finally ditch your camera and bring just your smartphone or tablet along instead. Warning: Incidents of people taking video or pictures with their tablets at concerts likely to increase exponentially with the popularity of these lens cameras. If they take off, that is.
