We reported before that Sony Xperia 1 is making its way to Malaysia, despite the initial issues that caused all Sony smartphones to leave the country. Now there's more information revealed, with pre-orders starting sometime this month and the price of the smartphone being MYR4299.
Specifically, pre-orders will start on 24 August until 6 October 2019 and there's no doubt about it - that is a hefty price tag attached to the Xperia 1. It's even more expensive than the Samsung Galaxy Note10! As such, Sony is bundling the Xperia 1 with a pair of WH-1000XM3 noise-cancelling headphone worth MYR1599, completely free.
There are some terms and conditions to consider of course, one of it being that the phone will be available for pre-order via their official online store and select Sony Centres only. Sony will also only allow you to purchase only one unit per person.
It would be interesting to see if Malaysians would get into Sony smartphones again, especially since the Sony Xperia 1 is the brand’s top-tier flagship device. Currently it mainly stands out for having a large 21:9 CinemaWide 4K HDR 6.5-inch OLED display, powered by its BRAVIA Technology. In terms of specs, the phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC, 6GB RAM, and has a 12MP triple-camera setup for its main camera.
